Manifesto

  1. Concept. Aiming to make progress testable, this event will freeze the creations of its participants, mainly learners, for two years. After that time, the artists will redo their work, reinterpreting it from memory, before having access to their original creations, being then able to reflect from a novel standpoint.
  2. Theme. All artists will follow a postal theme. Inspiration from postcards, letters, or stamps can be drawn; as well as from post offices and all concepts surrounding them, such as mailboxes, mail carriers or classical mail motifs. Any style can be chosen and artists will capture the theme their way and using the means they want.
  3. Format. Submissions are preferably digital, but each individual has free choice over technique. Artistic projects that fall under the umbrellas of painting, photography, graphic arts, sculpture, literature, music, architecture, dance, performing arts and cinema will be accepted. The project must be original and unpublished at the time of submission, and it must have been produced specifically for this event.
  4. Delivery. If your submission is not intended to be digital, please inform in advance to confirm a space to store your project in physical form. The maximum file size of each submission is 4GB, and can consist of a folder or an individual file. The file format is open to each artist. Each participant can only submit one project, and only result files will be stored (preferably no program files).
  5. Timeline. Submission deadline is August 1, 2020, and all projects must have been created after this event’s announcement (June 8, 2020). During the summer of 2022, all participants are expected to prepare another project, following the same theme and in the same means as their first creation, to be delivered before August, when all original projects will be recovered and each artist will be able to compare and share their progress.
  6. Commitment. By participating in this event, all artists are expected to commit during a two-year lapse, in which they will not access either their final project or any content generated in its process. When submitting the project, participants must erase all copies or receipts, as well as program files and/or digital or physical remains, in order to preserve all the information from it exclusively in personal memory. During these two years, access to any of the projects will be impracticable, since two capsules, buried in two parts of Tenerife, will keep them isolated. On August 2, 2020, these two capsules will be hidden in two separate places known only by two people, who will then recover them in 2022. 00110010 will not use any of the projects, which will always be fully owned by their artists. The team behind the event will not use any of the content created by their participants without previous explicit requesting to do so. A log of all participants and their work will be kept until 2022 to ensure the completion of this biennial event.
