00110010 is an event focused on the passage of time and the progress of the artistic process, organized by Héctor Mangas Afonso between 2020 and 2024.

00110010 aims to show the creative change of young artists by grouping the works of its participants in a physical capsule buried in the summit of Tenerife.

In 2020 and together with David Ujja, the first edition of the capsule buried the pieces of 53 artists from nineteen cities. The technique of the works was very varied: paintings, illustrations, photographs, animations, songs and texts, all stored in mixed digital and physical format in two separate capsules.

As their work was buried, each artist commited to remove all remnants of their project so that it would only be accessible through remembrance.

In 2022, as a midpoint of the project, the capsule was recovered to check progress and introduce new participants

After the pieces were remade from memory, all projects returned to their artists for a short period of time.

The 2020-2022 Exhibition

This short period was timed to coincide with an exhibition in Tenerife, which would show the pieces before hiding the entire contents again until 2024.

2024 and the end of 00110010

In total, 80 pieces in ten different mediums are currently resting at the summit of Tenerife.

But this year we will close the cycle with the following key dates:

▪ June

Artists are called upon to recreate their work from memory.

▪ July

▪ August

The capsule is unearthed and the projects are returned to their artists, who will be able to compare their projects.

▪ September

▪ October

The artists give their reflections on their experience with 00110010, in preparation for the Exhibition.

▪ November

▪ December

The Exhibition, permanent and online, which houses all the work produced for 00110010 in these four years, is inaugurated.
